Hi, I enjoy Glenn’s perspective on many things and like to stretch the noggin out of the prevailing ruts. I appreciate the civil discourse here also. An underlying trend in the Other comments may be a reliance on the mainstream media for understanding of what is happening; too terribly biased and unlike real journalism anymore. I encourage you all to watch Mike Lindell’s excellent information in β€œAbsolute Proof” for much actual factual data that has been radically suppressed. A person who puts his reputation and assets on the line for what he believes is truth is worthy of consideration regardless of slander.

Regarding impeachment, I thought it's being done as an expression of Trump Derangement Syndrome, so they can attempt to keep him out of politics forever. Of course it's a politically motivated farse. There is plenty of evidence Trump did not incite violence, which had been planned and orchestrated by the deep state well in advance. In fact, he encouraged the opposite. And the DC police were letting the agente provocateurs inside well before Trump finished his rally speech many blocks away. What does puzzle me is why are people today so averse to the Patrick Henry sentiments, so afraid to recognize that there is a time to use force, there is a time and a moral duty, as the Declaration of Independence admonishes, to throw off a government that is not abiding by the limits that its creators established. Obviously the courts are thoroughly corrupt. There is absolutely massive evidence of widespread voter fraud, manipulation by foreign entities including, but not limited to China, Iran, the Vatican, Italy, Serbia, and others, switching votes in real time from Trump to Biden. The CEO of Dominion voting machines clearly perjured himself when he claimed the machines don't connect to the internet--his user manuals have a chapter explaining all about their network connectivity, and live, during Georgia Senate hearings on election fraud, Fulton County white hats under a Team with Hutton Pulitzer hacked into Dominion voting machines using nearby Wi-Fi. When the computer store owner John Paul Mac Isaac, who discovered evidence of horrendous crimes by Hunter Biden (including child rape and other heinous exploits) on Biden's laptop, has to flee Delaware due to tons of death threats (and current rumors that he was found dead), and when clearly Joe Biden is in bed with the CCP peddling influence when he was VP with illegal Chinese deals, its clear this country is and has been at war with China (which declared war on the US decades ago) and is thoroughly infiltrated by Chinese spies and Chinese compromised politicians, bureaucrats, and judges at every level of government that is very effectively dividing and conquering the once land of the free and once home of the brave. The unquestionably corrupted, fraudulent election (if one will look at the evidence, unlike the cowardly courts and fake media who have been refusing the big cases and pretending there is no evidence) was a like a headstrike by the Chinese dragon against the American Eagle. The Chinese are determined to steal all the military technology of the West and become the dominant superpower, and they are well on their way. Impeachment of Trump is just a strategy to keep a major obstacle from blocking their goal.

Regarding the Peter Schiff video, you might enjoy a very easy read called "Miracle on Main Street" by F. Tupper Saussy. It's a history of Roger Sherman's (only signer of all four Founding documents) involvement in Article I Clause 10. It is about the only clause, per Madison's notes, where there was no debate but unanimous acceptance by the Founding Fathers. The book is a free PDF. The author, a fourth generation Hugenot (french) lawyer, had many folks across the country putting tax collectors at all levels in a catch 22, pitting their oath to the Constitution against their attempts to collect tax in some form other than that required by Article 1 clause 10. They would offer POMCs (Public Office Money Certificates), a sort of promise to pay, in lieu of FRN debt notes, when the recipient could identify the money of account of the United States.

Glenn: I read the posts by Vanessa and Glenn. I voted for Trump because my only other real choice was Clinton. I don't believe in dynasties and further, Clinton was just not the type of person I wanted to see in the white house. Her negative qualities are just too numerous to list here. While I too believe he was rude and crude, we have had rude and crude presidents before and survived. We survived LBJ who was perhaps the rudest and crudest president in our history. What Trump did do that I found laudatory and I believe is the root of the democrats five-year-old temper tantrum about his election is he tried to reverse the slide of our government into socialism and tried to stem the ever encroachment of the federal government into all facets of our personal lives.

With regard to Vanessa, she lost all credibility she might have had when she, like Billary, talked about walking around in Spain while Guarda Civil were firing their automatic weapons. No sane person walks around while automatic weapons are firing.

Personally, after all the inflammatory language from democratic politicians over the last four years such a Maxine Waters. If Trump is guilty of inflammatory language, then so is Maxine Waters. If we are going to clean house, then let's do a thorough job of it.

Personally I did not find Trump's words in his speech inflammatory. We use "let's fight" very commonly in our every day speech. Let's fight for justice. Let's fight for equal rights. Even attorney ads on television use those words "We will fight for you." The democrats have encouraged violence in the country for at least the last four years. They have wasted four years of the people's time in their constant attempts at hindering the business of this country. Look at the time and money wasted on the spurious Russian connection. If Putin bought Trump, he needs to go to the Better Business Bureau with a complaint about not getting what he paid for. Trump did everything to hinder Russia short of declaring war. That investigation was such a dumb move it was hard for me to believe anyone with an IQ over 50 would believe it. Perhaps that is the problem β€” too many politicians and bureaucrats in D.C. have an IQ below 50.

The demonstration in front of the congress building did not shock me. I believe it was engendered in some government circles, not by Trump. We need to ask ourselves who gains from such a demonstration? The entrenched politicians are the ones who gain from it in my view. I have long felt that we really don't have two parties. They are both the same with such minor differences as to be indistinguishable. They both enjoy privilege and wealth unavailable to the peasants and serfs. Their only concern is continuing in power so that they may continue to enjoy the high life like John Kerry "A person like me needs to fly hither and yon in a personal jet while I preach living the green life, riding a bike, taking the bus or train for the common herd."

I would like to see Trump run again. I predict if he does, he will win. I hope he starts a third party. It is time that we had more choices than one party. Please don't talk about the peace and freedom party or the green party or the libertarians. They can't get their act together enough to mount a viable candidate. How are they ever going to run something as big as this country.

Therein lies the problem. The country is too big and too diverse to be run by doofuses in D.C. The president is isolated from all except his cronies and other members of the privileged class. He has no real feel for what you and I are concerned about. Although as a member of the private sector rather than the political establishment, he had the opportunity to meet real people more than the isolated political establishment. Again why both the democrats and their fellow companions in corruption, the republicans hated him so much. He was an outsider.

The impeachment Noh drama is again a futile gesture, dog and pony show designed to fool the masses. Trump won't be convicted. This impeachment d&p show is just to cater to the rabid masses who don't like Trump personally. I wouldn't have him over for dinner but I believe he was as effective as he could be considering all the forces aligned against him.

Well, I have run on again. Keep up the good work.

Glenn- regarding your post on legal tender (and Apollo):

Great video and I agree that the looming crisis that this will cause has the potential to make all of our other recent crises pale in comparison. I hope not, but as of right now, don't see a way ahead that will avert one.

My wife will absolutely love the link you gave in the Moon post. She was on a path to be a part of the space program when that nasty thing called life changed her path. It led her to me so I'm not complaining but I'm not asking her opinion about how she feels... she may give a different answer... haha.

Glenn- regarding your impeachment post:

While I think there's an element of truth in wanting to prevent our former President from running for an elected government position again I also believe the impeachment trial is about holding a President, any President, accountable for their actions while in office be it on the first day or last day.

If, as happened on January 6th, a President believed they weren't in any jeopardy for what they said or did since and, in this case, they were only going to be in office for two more weeks, they could theoretically do whatever they wanted and then claim that since they were no longer in office they couldn't be held accountable for their actions because they weren’t a sitting President (assuming Congress wasn't able to complete an impeachment hearing, trial, and conviction within in the remaining time before the President left office).

To me that’s a very dangerous and slippery slope. To me the reason Congress is taking this up right now is because no previous President has ever been in a position at the end of their Presidency where this scenario occurred. The fact both the House and Senate are in control by Democrats clouds what should be a black and white situation but, in my mind, we ALL should be held accountable for our actions whether it be those that stormed the White House or any person who may incite others to take that action.

I would like to use an analogy (it’s not the best but hopefully it will get across my point). In 2011, the US targeted and killed Anwar al-Awlaki, a terrorist whose role was primarily as a recruiter of others and a motivator by writing and creating videos that promoted violence. While he never pulled the trigger on anybody people died because of what he said and wrote and he was held to account.

I am NOT trying to compare a President with a terrorist, say he is a terrorist, or that he should be β€œtaken out”, because I most definitely am NOT saying that. What I AM saying is "words matter" and can and do have serious and deadly implications. Whether they mean to or not, words and speeches can have both intended and intended consequences. I would like to hope and believe anybody who was elected to our Nation's highest office would understand that fact.

In such a polarized political environment, ANY President should use the written and spoken word carefully because there are WAY too many people, on both sides of the fence, just chomping on the bit to take anything said or written out of context and take it to an extreme.

This should be a moment where all of us reflect on where our Country is and that we need to step back from rhetoric, by either side, that enflames people further. What we have in common far exceeds our differences. We need to work together, not against each other. There are too many other issues (health, economic, financial, environmental, geo-political) that need our attention and the ONLY way we’ll solve them is by finding common ground to stand on.

I apologize for the length of this post. I never post, and based on the length of my post, that's probably a good thing... :)

One thing I've heard is that the desired effect of the impeachment effort is to prevent President Trump from running again in 2024.

Re:impeachment>At issue is Trump's ability to enter an electoral race in the future. His hold on the Republican party must be terminated as it appears his interests have never been in the interests of our country.

Three quarters of Americans know that what the wackadoodles did at the Capitol was a dangerous assault on democracy. One also cannot argue that a country born and made financially solvent by enslaving people has a history to wrestle with in the current day.

Trump was gasoline for hatred in this country, and, whether we are Democrats or Republicans. The Lincoln Project (conservative Republicans) as well as a few other Republican groups have made strong cases for distancing and rejecting the authoritarian personality.

I studied in Spain during Franco's last days. Walking around troops with machine guns blazing is a sobering experience. I have taught in other countries where people collected tolls on roadways by virtue of the permission of their machines guns. No matter where I have been in the past 50 years, looking into the barrel of a machine gun still exerts the same feeling of panic and awe.

So yes, racism still exists in America. Not all whites are racist. Americans have the right to bear arms and protect their property and families. Vigilantisim, however, can never be condoned. Vigilantism is what I witnessed on television on January 6th.
