Glenn, I have been doing this for way too many years. I used to sell foods back in the 70s. Thru y2k and as late as this year. Several brands and types of foods. I would like to comment on the process you are doing now. Yes I love oxygen absorbers and I use them along with my food saver vacuum sealer in jars!! I have used Mylar and yes it does work with the impulse sealer you purchased, But mice will eat right through a Mylar bag. So the idea of buying bulk is great. Your storage method is not! If this is the route you wish to go, then buy metal containers or very heavy plastic containers with strong lids to store your Mylar bags in. I love using mason jars but they are heavy and only good in a permanent setting. Think double or even triple protection for your investment of food. I have never liked mixed foods or just add water meals, so I buy each product separately allowing me to make my own menus. Over the years I have come up with a plan that includes a garden, a freezer, canned and dehydrated foods, bulk food and finally freeze dried foods for longer terms. Good luck with your venture, I agree I think we will need it sooner rather than later with inflation and prices rising I am seeing shortages again on basics flour, yeast, sugar, cornmeal, rice and beans and many dairy and meat products

I have Norton Utilities and have recently turned on the VPN for my browsing. Since doing that, I don't get any ads anymore.

My wife was a nurse in Alzheimer unit during the first Covid wave, when there was no protection, no vaccine and no idea in the French government. Out of 80 residents, 30 died with Covid (note, "with" and not "of" Covid, because the bug doesn't kill you, just make your health situation worse). Second wave, they had only 6 because visitors were not allowed, they had protections and better guidelines how to handle he bug. But still no vaccine.

The point is : are people ready to let die (because in France, old people were never sent to ICU, just palliative treated) a lot of people over 85 years or with comorbidities (mostly overweigth) by refusing the vax ? Or would it be better to say "Okay for the vax for such people, like with the flu, but not for the others, like with the flu too". Right now, we've only to parties : vax for everybody and vax for nobody. The one in the middle, who are the most clever (!) aren't listened to.
