Walking the Train Tracks, Chapter 3
An Excerpt from my Upcoming Book
This is the third chapter of the book I am writing called, “Walking the Train Tracks”. My goal is to create a practical, simple book that gives spiritual insights in bite-sized pieces. If you missed the previous chapters, here is chapter 1 and here is chapter 2.
Please enjoy, and give me comments below. Thank you.
Chapter Title: God Loves You.
The father’s pant legs were rolled up above his knees so they didn’t get wet as he ran in the surf. The boy’s soaked jeans lay in a heap on the beach, victim of a surprise wave that knocked the boy down. The boy now ran in his underwear. At first he was self-conscious about this, but the beach was deserted so he relaxed.
While running down the beach the father and son made a game of chasing the receding waves as far as they could without getting wet then quickly running away from the next wave. It was a simple joy that they relished because seeing the ocean was a rare treat.
They waved at the distant family members who had taken a more leisurely pace. The boy’s mother walked with her parents. They were slowly walking back to the car and were waving for the father and son to return.
The father and son started the return trek at a relaxed pace. Despite the frigid water, the boy’s face was glowing with warmth. The father put his arm around the boy. He was grateful for this moment.
The father looked into the boy’s amazing blue eyes. “You know that I love you with all my heart.”
“Of course dad.”
“I love you now and I always will. Even after my body dies I will still love you; just as I do in this moment. We may have good and bad periods in our lives; we may argue or get mad at each other once and a while, but underneath it all I will love you through and through. My love for you is eternal. Always know this. Don’t question it or doubt it, ever.”
I want to give you a good foundation of love and wisdom so that when you are old enough you can take your own journey in life. I want you to live true to yourself. However you decide to live your life, I will continue to love you. I fully accept you for who you are.
There’s a deeper point that I want you understand though. As powerful as my love is for you, know that God loves you infinitely more, because God’s capacity for love is infinite.
“God loves you totally and unconditionally, always. There is never a moment in which God withholds divine love from you, because God’s nature is of the purest love and this is what love does. Your mind cannot grasp the concept of infinite love but in your heart, in your Soul you know that what I am saying is true.
You exist because God loves you. Life is God’s gift to you. It’s the ultimate gift of love.
Sometimes life doesn’t seem to be a gift. Life can be hard; very hard. There will be times in your life when you will feel disconnected from God’s love. You will feel alone and unhappy. But understand that this is not because God is withholding this love, but it’s because your heart isn’t open; you’re not letting divine love in.
Know that the underlying purpose of every experience is to give you an opportunity to open your heart to God’s love here and now. When you let divine love into your heart your Soul celebrates. You feel complete and wholly satisfied; you find true happiness.
You find true happiness because by accepting and giving God’s love you have harmonized with your purpose for being here.
There are many people who live ambitious lives. They achieve great material wealth or they make their mark on the world, but when they’re about to die they feel empty; that they somehow missed the point of living. It’s in the moments when you truly appreciate life that you know, without a doubt that the purpose for being here is to let pure, divine love into your life and to let this love inspire you to live the best life possible.
So appreciate your times with your loved ones and relax in the knowledge that God loves you. Remember this and feel grateful.
The boy suddenly leaped forward and ran to his mother who smiled in pure delight at the boy’s excitement.
I’d love to hear your thoughts about this chapter.
Remember.. Remember What? Remember That I am a son or daughter of God. Remember where I came from , where I've been and where I'm going . When I come to a across road in life and there will always be plenty of those, I must make a choice. IF I do not know where I AM GOING IT DOES'NT MATTER WHICH ROAD or railroad track I TAKE . TO REMEMBER GIVES ME DIRETION , TO REMEMBER GIVES ME HOPE AND TO REMEMBER GIVES ME A DESIRE TO PREPARE MY MORTAL LIFE TO BE WHAT GOD KNOWES I AM CAPABLE OF BECOMING.
BE TRUE TO YOUR SELF .TRUTH IS WHAT CAN SET US FREE. DO WE REALLY KNOW AND APRECIATE WHAT WE HAVE? REMEMBER! REMEMBER AND THEN DO WHAT WE KNOW IS RIGHT
I absolutely love the part about God's eternal love. Do you think the father, instead of lecturing or direct teaching, could give the boy a story about his own life that would teach the boy by example? Just a suggestion. Glad you wrote it. It's important to know about eternal love.
